How To Load a Powersports Vehicle Into a Toy Hauler

Jul. 29 2022 Ownership Tips By 1st Choice Trailers

Your toy hauler's cargo bay is perfect for securely transporting powersports vehicles. Ensure a smooth and stress-free loading process by using the following tips.

1. Pick the Loading Location

Find a spot with flat, level ground. Make sure there is enough room for the toy hauler's ramp to be placed and for the powersports vehicle to drive up to it.

It's best to position the ramp at a low angle. This will make the loading process much easier.

2. Get the Powersports Vehicle Into the Toy Hauler

Once the toy hauler is in position, you will want to slowly drive the powersports vehicle up the ramp and into the cargo bay area. Then, immediately turn off the engine to avoid a buildup of fumes.

3. Use Proper Weight Distribution Techniques

When you load cargo into your toy hauler, it's important to keep the weight evenly distributed from left to right. That way, equal pressure will be placed on the tires and you'll have better control as you drive.

If you are loading other items besides the powersports vehicle, make sure to properly distribute the weight accordingly.

4. Secure the Cargo

After everything is loaded, you will need to secure it. Otherwise, it can get tossed about inside your toy hauler and get damaged.

Use D-ring tie-downs, ratchet straps, or other such tools to secure the powersports vehicle to your toy hauler's garage interior. Double check your work by tugging at the vehicle from different angles. If needed, adjust the straps or add more. Once everything is secured, you can hit the road and enjoy your trip!
